Mogwai, one of my favorite instrumental rock bands, is releasing their 11th album The Bad Fire (terrible timing on that album title, I know) produced by John Congleton (who’s worked with St. Vincent among others). Mogwai is a Scottish band led by Stuart Braithwaite and have an extraordinary sound that involves building from minimal sound to an immersive wall of sound, full of colorful guitars and keyboards. Their basslines are very melodic as well. They also have funny, irreverent song titles. #
