This is an arachnid in the order Solifugae, commonly referred to as a camel spider, sun spider, wind scorpion, or solpugid. Despite being comminly referred to as a “spider”, these arachnids are not spiders at all and are more closely related to whip scorpions. Solifugids are notoriously difficult to research due to their speed and elusiveness.
