Residents of central Pennsylvania should prepare for hazy skies and reduced air quality today as wildfire smoke from Canada persists across the region. An air quality alert remains in effect until midnight, with visibility potentially limited and particulate matter levels elevated.

Wildfire smoke will continue to linger and bring a haze to parts of the area Wednesday. Expect overall cloudy and muggy conditions throughout the day.

An air quality alert was issued by the National Weather Service in Mount Holly at 3:47 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5. This warning applies to Delaware, Philadelphia, Western Chester, Eastern Chester, Western Montgomery, Eastern Montgomery, Upper Bucks and Lower Bucks counties.
