The ICE U.S. Dollar Index was up 0.4% in recent trading after the latest reports about President Donald Trump's tariff plans. The index stood at 108.10 in recent trading. The euro, meanwhile, was off by 0.5% at $103, while the dollar was modestly lower against the Japanese yen.

US stocks fell on Friday as investors reacted to the threat of more possible tariffs from the Trump administration while digesting a jump in consumer expectations for inflation and an overshadowed monthly jobs report.

The Dow was on pace for a 0.4% weekly gain, while the S&P 500 was up 0.5% so far and the Nasdaq Composite was 0.7% higher through Thursday, according to FactSet.
