The National Weather Service reported an air quality alert at 1:20 p.m. EDT on Monday in effect until Wednesday at midnight EDT for Cass, St. Joseph, Branch, Hillsdale and Berrien counties.

Smoke from Canadian wildfires will contribute to poor air quality throughout Michigan on Wednesday and Thursday.

As Michigan extends its 10th air quality advisory of the season, some Michigan officials are urging Canada to do more about the wildfires and their negative impacts on Michigan's air quality.
