A 5-year-old girl who fell overboard off a Disney cruise ship reportedly fell backward through a porthole. The investigation is continuing into the incident that happened June 29 as the ship was returning to Fort Lauderdale after a four-day cruise.

A girl who fell from the Disney Dream cruise ship on Sunday had been sitting on a railing on the fourth deck before falling into the ocean, according to a Florida sheriff’s office.

Broward detectives said security footage from the Disney ship corroborated the family's account, and the investigation is ongoing.
