Another powerful storm system is expected to sweep across a wide swath of the United States, bringing heavy rain to Southern California, heavy snow to parts of the West and Midwest and more snow and freezing rain to the Northeast and New England.

A significant winter storm moves into Maine this weekend. Wind will be a factor for Mainers on Friday ahead of an impactful winter storm for Saturday evening through Sunday evening. A Wind Advisory goes into effect from 10 AM through 7 PM on Friday for gusts out of the northwest up to 45 MPH.

Most of Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky is under a Flood Watch as a significant rainfall event is expected on Saturday.

Tomorrow is a First Alert Weather Day for the threat for flooding and severe thunderstorms. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will kick off the day. Watch for very heavy downpours that lead to flooding of poor drainage areas. Temperatures will begin the day around 50°.
