The Aaron Rodgers era is over with the New York Jets. On Thursday, the team sent out a goodbye on their Twitter/X account, and it didn't go over well with fans.

The decision not to bring back Rodgers takes a ton of pressure off Engstrand as he can run his offense the way he sees fit, gets to develop his own quarterback rather than alter his schemes around Rodgers and won’t have to worry about being undermined or overruled during games when it comes to certain play calls.

Rodgers tore his Achilles on the fourth offensive snap of the Jets 2023 campaign, causing him to miss virtually the entire year. He returned in 2024 to play in all 17 games, throwing for 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns. All that led to was a 5-12 record, though, making New York one of the most disappointing teams in the league.
