The Associated Press on Friday sued three Trump administration officials for blocking its reporters from access to events like Oval Office meetings and Air Force One press pools, citing a violation of its First Amendment rights.

The suit accuses the Trump administration of violating the First Amendment and retaliating after AP refused to adopt “Gulf of America” terminology.

The Associated Press has filed suit against three White House officials responsible for banning the organization’s reporters from the Oval Office and other spaces including the president’s aircraft in retaliation for the wire service’s refusal to fully acquiesce to President Donald Trump’s push to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America.
