Bernard “Tom” Jack Tompsett, 96, of Norfolk, VA, passed peacefully on Oct. 12, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family and faithful dog, Colt. He was born in Rockford, Michigan, on Aug. 16, 1929.
A corrections officer in a Virginia prison was killed in an attack by an inmate, the state corrections department said.
