A local police officer who was on administrative leave was shot during an “armed confrontation” with fellow officers who were serving her with a restraining order earlier this week.

North Andover, Massachusetts police officer Kelsey Fitzsimmons is in stable condition, a day after she was shot​ by a fellow officer as she was served with a restraining order.

North Andover officer and new mom Kelsey Fitzsimmons, 28, was shot once when three officers arrived at her home on Monday evening to present her a restraining order, Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker said during a news conference Tuesday.
