This is an opinion column. We’ve said it before and why not one final time this college football season? Wow. What an incredible ride through a completely new world this has been. This journey ends Monday night with two northern invaders deciding a champion in the heart of SEC country.

The new AP poll is out, and the Auburn Tigers are No. 1 on the list for the second time in program history. The first time was for three weeks in January and February of 2022. Auburn jumped Tennessee for the No. 1 spot after the Volunteers lost 73-43 to Florida on Tuesday in Gainesville. Tennessee had be No. 1 for five weeks.

Kalen DeBoer and Freddie Roach made their way to Huntsville, Alabama to visit Hezekiah Harris on Wednesday.  Harris is a 2026 four-star edge out of Mae Jemison High School, and he is currently verbally committed to the Auburn Tigers.

On Saturday, the conference then saw three different Top 25 ranked-vs.-ranked matchups take place all across the SEC, headlined by a Top 10 showdown in Lexington. Each of those games also lived up to the hype as well, especially that aforementioned contest inside Rupp Arena on Saturday.
