Now-former Coastal Carolina University President Michael T. Benson said he’s “honored” to become West Virginia University’s 27th president, according to a news release sent Monday. Following contract negotiations with the WVU Board of Governors on Thursday,

WVU announced on Monday morning that Michael T. Benson, currently president of Coastal Carolina University, will be WVU’s next president, its 27th. His employment term will start July 15 and will run through June 30,

West Virginia University, located just over an hour south of Pittsburgh in Morgantown, West Virginia, has named its next president.

In 1965, Warren Buffett took control of Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK.A) (NYSE: BRK.B). The stock has since returned 19.9% annually, while the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) has compounded at 10.4% annually. Berkshire sold $143 billion in stock in 2024, while purchasing only $9 billion.
