Voter turnout has been declining steadily in Ontario provincial elections for decades, from a high of 74 per cent in the 1971 general election, to between 58 and 44 per cent since 1999. With 49.94 per cent of eligible voters casting ballots, London West had the highest voter turnout of the city’s four ridings.
