Trump announced on Thursday that the US will work with Pakistan to develop its “massive” oil reserves. He even suggested Pakistan may “maybe” sell oil to India in the future.

India is the world’s third-largest consumer of crude oil and depends on imports to meet around 88 per cent of its requirement of the commodity.

Pakistan’s proven oil and gas reserves are minimal, and the country relies on imports from West Asia for about 85% of its energy needs
