India's aviation regulator has ordered the country's airlines to inspect fuel control switches in Boeing aeroplanes, after their reported involvement in a fatal Air India crash that killed 260 people in June.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and Boeing have privately issued notifications that the fuel switch locks on Boeing planes are safe.

Following a recent AI 171 crash, India has directed airlines operating Boeing 737s and 787 Dreamliners to inspect fuel control switch locking mechanisms by July 21. This directive aligns with similar actions by regulators in South Korea and the UAE,
