Michigan State was held to 4.7 yards per pass, and the secondary executed blitzes perfectly to overwhelm Alessio Milivojevic. Zion Tracy, King Mack, and Daryus Dixon all had at least a half sack. Tracy had a sack-fumble late in the game with the Spartans moving into the red zone. This was the best game all season from the secondary.

Michigan State had a chance to get points late in the half and reached midfield but that was it and Penn State took a 14-10 lead into halftime. The Nittany Lions had advantages in total yards (181-149), first downs (8-4) and time of possession (18:23-11:37) while the teams were a combined 2-for-13 on third down.
In a battle of the two teams who had yet to win a Big Ten game, it was the road team picking up its first conference win of the season. Penn State defeated Michigan State at Spartan Stadium on Saturday,
