During the telephonic conversation, the PM was briefed about the situation, including the impact of the avalanche and the ongoing weather conditions.

A total of 55 workers were trapped, with efforts hindered due to bad conditions. The situation remains critical as rescue work underway.

55 BRO labourers were trapped under the avalanche on Friday, out of which 33 were rescued. Rain and snowfall hampered the rescue efforts, leading to the operation being suspended as night fell.
