New for this year, Colt re-introduces the shorted version of the Python made with a 3" barrel.

Despite the short barrel, the Colt Python 3" is outfitted with a full-size set of "Coke-bottle" stocks, which have a squared-off butt and fine checkering, along with an inset Colt escutcheon.

The revolver was most commonly sold with a six-inch barrel, although two, three, four, and eight-inch barrels were also available. The barrel was the Python’s most defining and beautiful feature.
