The National Weather Service is warning of a “strong Arctic front” headed to the Chicago area Wednesday night, with gusty snow showers during the evening commute and “bursts” of snow possible ahead of an extreme cold watch that will send temperatures plummeting below zero.

CHICAGO - The frigid cold of Friday continued early Saturday, but with an every so slight warm-up, if you could call it that, as the day goes on.

Snow is possible Saturday afternoon into Sunday, with higher totals south of Chicago and near the lake.
