The 49ers are adding one of the veteran running backs they worked out this week. Per Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, San Francisco is signing Ameer Abdullah. Abdullah, 32, spent the last three seasons with the Raiders. In 2024, he rushed for 311 yards with two touchdowns and caught 40 passes for 261 yards with three TDs in 16 games.

Pearsall missed the first six games on the reserve/non-football injury list, but by the end of the season he seemed to find his groove, impressing Kubiak with his improved ability to beat man-to-man coverage. He posted 18 receptions for 247 yards and two touchdowns in the final three weeks.

Jauan Jennings missed his third consecutive practice Thursday with a calf strain. Coach Kyle Shanahan said Jennings aggravated the calf injury that bothered him in the offseason. There is no timetable for Jennings' return.
