National Guard troops arrived in Los Angeles early Sunday on the order of President Trump after protests roiled the city in recent days as federal law enforcement officers carried out immigration operations in the region.

"All that these troops will be able to do is provide a form of force protection and other logistical support for ICE personnel."

California National Guard arrived in Los Angeles on Sunday, deployed by President Donald Trump after two days of protests by hundreds of demonstrators against immigration raids carried out as part of Trump's hardline policy.
