Daniel Dunn pleaded guilty to shooting a woman in Lee County before leading authorities to a shootout in Charlotte County.

Court documents say Michael Schwartz had a history of mental illness. He was previously on probation and part of it was to continue ongoing mental health treatment and medication.

Sheriff Bill Prummell said Schwartz pointed a gun in the direction of the responding deputies, who then shot and killed Schwartz.
