The Jackets earn a spot in their first State Championship with their historic win over Wilson in the state semifinals.

Florence, SC. (WRDW/WAGT) - Both the boys and the girls basketball teams of North Augusta won the SCHSL 4A Lower State Championship. It is the first time that both teams are appearing in the state semifinal together.

Both the North Augusta High School boys and girls basketball teams are competing in the final four of the South Carolina High School League state tournament in at the Florence Center on Monday.

In the 4A Lower State Semifinal game on Monday afternoon, the North Augusta Yellow Jackets took down the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets 42-34.

The North Augusta High School girls' basketball team will play for the Class AAAA state championship once again following a Lower State title win over Lower Richland.

Lower Richland girls basketball came up short of ending its championship appearance drought. North Augusta built a big first-half lead and were able to hold off the Diamond Hornets’ second-half comeback for a 42-34 win in the Class 4A Lower State championship Monday at the Florence Center.
