The Commanders acquired the five time pro bowl left tackle from the Houston Texans in exchange for multiple draft picks, with their 2025 third and seventh round selections, plus a 2026 second and fourth rounder going to the Texans. Washington also received a 2025 fourth round pick.

The Eagles ' chances for playing on Christmas Day just increased as FOX Sports announced on May 12 that the Birds will be part of a Saturday doubleheader. The Eagles will play the Commanders at Northwest Stadium in Landover,

The Dec. 20 meeting with Washington will be the second of the regular season between the teams. The full NFL schedule will be released Wednesday.

The Commanders are expected to have several prime-time games in 2025. We took a stab at predicting which games would be in prime time. Of the two announced games, the Washington-Philadelphia game is on a Saturday and is a prime candidate to be played under the lights.

The Eagles and Commanders met twice during the regular season last year. Philadelphia took the first matchup, 26-18 and Washington took the second in a come-from-behind victory, 36-33. The Eagles got their revenge in the NFC Championship with a dominant 55-23 win to advance to the Super Bowl in which they would also be victorious.

The Commanders and Eagles have been announced to face off against each other in Week 16 on December 20th as part of a FOX double-header on Saturday. The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears are part of the second double-header on the same day.

The Battle of the Tush Push will be played on Monday Night Football. The Eagles will travel to face the Green Bay Packers, the team that moved to formally ban the Eagles’ signature play, for a Week 10 game on Monday, Nov. 10.
