Israel’s parliament called for the annexation of all Jewish settlements in the West Bank, a non-binding resolution that still comes as a rejection of international efforts to recognize Palestinian statehood as part of peacekeeping efforts.

According to the Israel Hayom newspaper, Transport Minister Miri Regev and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich approved the additional budget of 918 million shekels ($274.6 million) Wednesday night for infrastructure projects and road rehabilitation to connect West Bank settlements with each other and Israeli cities.

The passing by Israel's parliament of a symbolic motion annexing the West Bank drew criticism from many countries on Thursday. The non-binding resolution, which passed by 71 to 13 in the Knesset, declared the West Bank to be "an inseparable part of the Land of Israel,
